  • The AACRC Transition Task Force includes Harlan Jackson, Byron Stallworth, Yasmin Chilton, Darrick Dansby, Ashley Nkadi, Chris Steward, Reggie Brazille, Patrice Barnes, and Thomas Brame. 

    The founding Officers of The Cincy Cultural Resource Center Foundation are Harlan Jackson and Byron Stallworth. Additional officers will be added as this nonprofit evolves. 

    The Cincy Cultural Resource Center Foundation’s Board of Trustees is being established to help oversee the mission and functioning of the nonprofit. Membership will consist of committed alums and community members, including Harlan Jackson, Byron Stallworth, and others to be named.  

  • Ohio Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), also known as the "Enact Advance Ohio Higher Education Act," aims to significantly alter higher education in Ohio. Key aspects include:   

    • Restrictions on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):

      • It seeks to prohibit diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and offices in public universities and restrict scholarships that use DEI criteria.   

    • "Intellectual Diversity":

      • The bill emphasizes "intellectual diversity" on campuses, which has led to debates about its interpretation and potential impact on academic freedom.

    • Faculty Regulations:

      • It includes provisions that would ban full-time faculty strikes.   

      • It also establishes post-tenure reviews.   

      • It also has syllabus transparency requirements.   

    • Controversial Topics:

      • The bill addresses how "controversial" topics are handled in classrooms.

      • It lists topics such as climate policies and DEI programs as being controversial. 

    • American Civics:

      • The bill also requires a mandatory American civics course.   

    Emboldened by federal executive orders that aim to erase and diminish differences, SB1 seeks to reshape the landscape of Ohio's public higher education system.
